What is the buying process?

Easy. Fill out the buying form and then we will email you immediately with an invoice with a link to your secure payment gateway and our account details. The invoice will include ‘Shipping’ and an ‘Admin fee’ which are non-refundable.

How long does shipping take?

Typically, 7 – 14 days unless extra documentation is required.

What does the admin fee cover?

This covers shipping, insurance for 14 days, packaging, condition report and other sundry costs.

Do you accept PayPal?

Not currently.

When does the trial window begin?

On receipt of the instrument or bow.

Can I alter or restore the instrument during the trial window?

Not without the written permission of Maple Violins. Any alteration without permission will be regarded as acceptance of the instrument or bow and the trial will end immediately.

Do I need to take out insurance?

Within the ‘Admin fee’ your instrument is insured for 32 days. The insurance is taken out with our partner segurio.com. After this period, Segurio will send you an offer for an insurance cover.

What is your returns process?

We advise keeping the shipping box your instrument was sent in during the trial period. If you decide it’s not the right instrument for you, simply re-pack and inform us of your decision. We will arrange our shipper to collect at a convenient time and issue a refund of the purchase price on receipt. The admin fee is retained by us to cover the cost of the trial.

How do I know my instrument is safe during the trial?

We use expert shippers and your instrument will be fully insured through our partners Segurio. The insurance policy details will be sent before collection is arranged.

When do I get paid?

We will release five working days after the end of the trial window.

Do I get to keep my instrument while it is being listed?

Yes, unless you prefer Maple Violins to store it for you. Please email us at info@mapleviolins.com to discuss options

If the instrument is returned, what does it cost me?

Usually, there is no charge unless some restoration costs have been agreed in advance.

How is VAT calculated?

VAT is charged at the standard rate on our commission only.
